Hot Tea And Its Ill-Effects

Tea is the most widely preferred beverage all over the globe. Everyone enjoys a cup of warm tea, be it during summer time or winter time. A lot of us prefer to have a piping hot cup of tea. But as per scientific research, those tea lovers who love to have the piping hot tea are in the risk of developing esophagus cancer. Esophageal cancer are those type of cancer which occurs in the cells that circulates the inside of esophagus.

Esophageal cancer occurs anywhere along the esophagus. Men are more likely than women to get esophageal cancer.This was published in the International Journal of Cancer which revealed that people who have a tendency of gulping loads of tea regularly above 59 degrees- doubles the risk of esophageal cell carcinoma if compared to those who prefer cooler tea.

The World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer has made it clear that drinking very hot beverage above 63 degrees centigrade causes cancer. ‘‘Carcinogens’’ is a substance that leads to the formation of cancer. Though various types of cancer causes death but Esophagus cancer better known as Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common cause of cancer death all over the world. It occurs in the esophagus- a long, hollow tube that connects the throat to the stomach.

In the study, started in 2002 and ended in the last month of 2017, it was found that near about 317 people developed esophageal cancer.

Though black and green teas have antioxidants, still there are other some un traced compounds present in those teas that are harmful for the body if consumed hot. So, as per scientific research, its better to have tea that is cooled down rather than the hot piping one.
